Dr. Jeanne D’Brant has been in private practice as the director of a holistic health center for more than twenty years. A pioneer in the field, her expertise is patient care is a result of her long-term interest, extensive education and specialized research. She is an Assistant Professor of Biology & Allied Health for the State University of New York, teaching on multiple campuses. Dr. D’Brant also instructs in the post-graduate division of New York Chiropractic College and has developed the college’s certification program and internet courses in herbal therapeutics. She is a consultant for and lectures widely to other health professionals and has appeared on numerous television and radio programs.
Jeanne studied dietary philosophies directly with founders of the holistic health movement and has broadened her knowledge of Ayurveda and Raja Yoga in India, of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Feng Shui in China, and of Homeopathy in Europe. She has many certifications in alternative therapies such as Therapeutic Touch and Reiki, and is certified in meridian therapy (Acupuncture). Jeanne began her studies of TCM in the 1980’s with nutritionist Jeffrey Bland and anthropologist Lyra Heller. She has been a mentor in the Acupuncture Master’s program at NY College of Health Professions, where her expertise in Eastern Nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine was enriched.
Her publications in the fields of Herbalism, Five Element Theory and Feng Shui include numerous periodicals and co-authorship of the book Earth Design. Her second work of non-fiction, Infidel!, based on her travels in forty four countries, is awaiting publication. Jeanne also founded an herbalists’ guild dedicated to the study of the origins of herbal medicine.
Dr. D’Brant is a licensed Chiropractor for the States of New York and Massachusetts and also a licensed Nutritionist in New York State. She is a certified instructor for the American Clinical Board of Nutrition and holds Professional Herbalist ranking from the American Herbalists’ Guild.
